For my Final Major Project, I intend to make a short film. The film will be a short documentary style video and will explore the work of black British artists and how they express their various ideas through their work, delving into their perspectives and their exploration of identity, culture and protest. I chose this because it relates to some of my other projects and is easier for me to talk about than a topic I'm not as well-versed in. I will display different mediums of art, showing 2D art, sculpture, photography and film, explaining the meaning behind their works, as well as the intent of their overall messaging and how that relates to the issues of their time. I may include excerpts from interviews they've done, giving more insight into their perspectives, and I'll compare and contrast these different perspectives to highlight the various conclusions each artist has reached. For art that I've seen personally, footage I've taken of it will be displayed in the video. I may split the film into sections, with each artist getting a section, before a final summary at the end that wraps up everything seen in the film so far. I thought of doing a more disorganized approach, but I feel structuring the video will make it easier to make and plan, as well as follow for a viewer watching it.
