One of the things I think I did well in my portfolio was clearly displaying my development through my various visual experiments. For each project I show the ideas, whether successful or unsuccessful, that led towards my final outcome. A point I could have improved was the quality of photos that I used to show these visual experiments. Rather than photographing them with a phone, I could have scanned the images, removing any issues with lighting or image resolution. I think the structure of my portfolio was good. Showing my research, then my development, then my outcomes display a clear thought process and vision for each project. Making sure to put the most visually appealing images like my r1iso print and sketches prevented the portfolio from being uninteresting to look at and shows my understanding of visual language. However, some of the images on the slides could have been arranged more cohesively, taking up more or less space on the slide or placed in a better position to highlight their importance.
A strength of my presentation was how much information I gave for each slide. I feel that I gave each project and its development adequate amounts of time, explaining my thought process and work process for each one. I don’t feel that someone listening would have been concerned that I might have skipped a topic or wasn’t giving proper focus to one. A weakness of my presentation may be my speaking. There were a lot of pauses between my words and sentences which could have made the presentation harder to listen to or follow. A more fluid explanation of my portfolio could help audience members to understand to content better. I also could have been more enthusiastic in my speech, which would help listeners feel engaged.
